USO Illinois is proud to announce that Eileen Castolene – Senior Vice President, Operations, Transformation and Chief Digital Officer at Combined Insurance has joined the Board.

Eileen is a graduate of St. Joseph College, where she received her B.S. in Business Administration, and Quinnipiac University, where she earned her Master’s in Organizational Leadership.

“One of the things that drew me to Combined Insurance was their passion for hiring, training, and developing veterans, as well as their affiliation with USO and other veteran support groups,” said Castolene. “My son recently left the military after serving eight years, and I saw first-hand his challenges to transition his military experience and skills into a meaningful civilian career. With this in mind, I took the opportunity to join the USO Board and be actively involved in USO volunteering and program advocacy, such as the USO’s career support program—Pathfinder®.”

Combined Insurance was recently named the #1 Military Friendly Employer once again by VIQTORY for 2021. This is Combined’s tenth consecutive year on the Top 10 employer list and seventh consecutive year in the Top 5. Combined has hired more than 5,500 veterans, military spouses, and family members.

What makes Combined’s veteran program successful is that they employ a holistic approach to veteran employment. They aim to provide meaningful employment, along with the training, tools, structure and management support veterans need to be successful. Combined sees the hard work ethic, discipline, teamwork, and other competencies that veterans have gained in the military as assets. The company also ensures that they give back to military and veteran organizations, such as the USO Illinois, through both volunteering time and donations.

Welcome Eileen and Combined Insurance to the USO Illinois family!
