USO Great Lakes Welcomes Back Service Members

The first event held in the newly remodeled USO Great Lakes Center took place on Friday, April 2 with a USO No-Dough Dinner sponsored by the Gary Sinise Foundation. More than 360 people, mainly Sailors with a few family members mixed in, enjoyed food provided by Real Urban BBQ.
The 15,000 sq-ft Center has been under construction since last July and is now beginning to reopen with modern amenities such as a fantastic music room featuring a DJ area, a state-of-the-art sound system for the entire center, and a dedicated eGaming room.
The Sailors that have visited the Center since its reopening have been extremely impressed with all the offerings. One Sailor said, “thank you for putting these No-Dough Dinners on. It’s a great place to come and eat and kick back with my buddies.”
USO staff are diligently working on reopening the Center to all military members and their families. More information will be available soon.
