May 6 is Military Spouse Appreciation Day – observed to honor the contributions and sacrifices military spouses make daily. USO Illinois hosted two USO Spouse Social virtual programs to thank our military spouses for their sacrifices and to introduce and to help foster a sense of community among military spouses across Illinois.

USO Spouse Social: Block Printing invited spouses to learn the history, tools, and process of print making. During the class, they got to make their very own block print! “The block printing was so much fun. The USO really knows how to make us military spouses feel special! What a great gift to be able to keep all the tools and build off what we learned. Thank you!” -Shelly, Military Spouse

On Friday, May 7, USO Illinois hosted USO Spouse Social: Painting Party. Guests received a paint kit and were led through a step-by-step art class by Missy W., a trained artist and military spouse, on simple brush techniques and to create a magnificent masterpiece.
